Privacy Policy

This Privacy & Data Protection Agreement (“Agreement”) sets out the terms and conditions under which Discount Depot and Shopify Merchant shall process and protect personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.

1. Personal Data Processing

Scope of Data Processed: Discount Depot will process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide the Services to Shopify Merchant. The protected customer data to be processed will include the name & address information.
Data Transfer Mechanism: Discount Depot will transfer personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws and regulations.
Legal Roles and Responsibilities: Discount Depot is a data processor and Shopify Merchant is the data controller for the personal data processed under this Agreement. Shopify App shall process personal data only on behalf of and in accordance with the instructions of Shopify Merchant, and shall take appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data.

2. Data Retention Period

Discount Depot is committed to protecting the privacy of its users and their personal data. To this end, we will retain personal data for no longer than is necessary for the functioning of our app, and we will delete all associated personal data permanently within 15 days of app uninstallation. This data retention period ensures that we can provide the best possible user experience and maintain the integrity of our app, while also respecting our users’ right to privacy and data protection.

3. Data Encryption

To protect the privacy and confidentiality of personal data, we take encryption seriously. We employ the AES-256 encryption algorithm, which is an industry standard for encryption, to secure personal data both at rest and in transit.

4. Data Security

Discount Depot shall take appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure the security and confidentiality of personal data processed under this Agreement.
Discount Depot shall implement and maintain appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access to, or disclosure of, personal data processed under this Agreement.

5. Google Merchant Center and Google Account Data

Google OAuth Authorization: When a merchant chooses to connect Google Merchant Center, Discount Depot uses Google OAuth 2.0 to request authorization. We request only the permissions necessary to provide the Google Merchant Center sale-price synchronization feature.
Google Data Accessed: Subject to the permissions granted by the merchant, Discount Depot may access the Google account email address, Merchant Center account identifiers and names, product and offer identifiers, SKU-based product mapping data, and product price and sale-price information required to create, update, or remove sale prices selected through Discount Depot.
Use of Google Data: Google data is used only to connect the selected Merchant Center account, match eligible Shopify variants to Merchant Center offers, synchronize or remove sale prices requested through the App, maintain the connection, diagnose errors, and display sync status and failure details to the merchant.
Limited Use and Sharing: Discount Depot does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the user-facing Merchant Center synchronization feature. Google user data is not shared with third parties except where necessary to provide the feature through trusted infrastructure providers, where required by law, or with the merchant’s explicit consent.
Google Connection Data: OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens are stored securely and used only to maintain the authorized Google Merchant Center connection. A merchant may disconnect Google Merchant Center at any time through Discount Depot. Disconnecting removes the stored Google authorization credentials and stops future synchronization.
Google API Services User Data Policy: Discount Depot’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Google User Data Retention and Deletion: Discount Depot retains Google user data only for as long as necessary to provide the Google Merchant Center synchronization feature. When a merchant disconnects their Google account, we delete the stored Google OAuth access and refresh tokens and stop accessing Google APIs. Any Google user data stored by Discount Depot that is no longer required for providing the service will be permanently deleted within 15 days of account disconnection or app uninstallation, unless retention is required by applicable law. Merchants may also request deletion of their Google-related data by contacting support@discountdepot.axtrics.com.

6. Data Breach

In the event of a personal data breach, Discount Depot shall notify Shopify Merchant without undue delay after becoming aware of the breach.
Discount Depot shall cooperate with Shopify Merchant to investigate and remediate any personal data breaches and to take appropriate measures to prevent such breaches from occurring in the future.

7. Amendments

We value transparency and clear communication with our merchants, and we are committed to ensuring that our agreements accurately reflect the terms and conditions of our business relationship. To this end, we may need to amend or modify this Agreement from time to time to reflect changes in our business practices, legal requirements, or other factors. In such cases, we will provide appropriate notifications to our merchants to ensure that they are aware of any changes to this Agreement. We may do this by sending an email to the address associated with the merchant’s account, posting a notice on our App, or providing other forms of communication that are reasonably calculated to notify the merchant of the changes.

8. Dispute Resolution

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Agreement shall be resolved through good faith negotiations between Discount Depot and Shopify Merchant.
